The Leading International Fair for Contemporary Craft and Design

Presented by Crafts Council and celebrating its 20th year, Collect is the leading international fair for contemporary craft and design, representing the pinnacle of artistry and creativity.
At a time when contemporary craft has never been more sought after, the fair offers collectors an opportunity to acquire new, museum-quality handcrafted artworks from some of 21st Century’s finest craft talent. Prices range from £500 to £50,000 providing an opportunity for visitors – both new and established – to acquire contemporary craft.
Specialist galleries, dealers and collectives representing 400 artists will gather at Collect 2024 from across the globe.
Each gallery will curate its own display and commission new pieces or bodies of work especially for the fair. Various and eclectic artworks will be showcased: skilfully crafted using ceramic, lacquer, precious metalwork, textiles, fibre, wood, paper and non-traditional materials including resin, mica, cornstarch and plastics as well as re-used, re-purposed and re-cycled materials.
올해 푸른문화재단은 작가와 작업의 예술성에 주목하고, 피상적인 장르 분류에 대한 고정관념을 깨기 위해 “Just Art! : Beyond Borders (그저 예술! : 경계를 넘어서)”라는 기획 전시를 선보입니다.
현대 작가들은 공예품을 만들 때 더 이상 숙련된 손기술에만 의존하거나 특정 기능에 초점을 맞추지 않습니다. 순수개념을 자신만의 창의적인 방법으로 자유롭게 구현하고, 재료의 물성을 깊이 연구하고, 그 안에서 아름다움의 원형을 발견함으로써 철학과 미학적 실험이 담긴 예술로 승화시키고 있습니다.
이번 전시에서는 총 25명의 작가가 150여점의 예술작품을 선보입니다. 전시에 참여하는 모든 작가는 현대예술장신구와 다양한 예술 오브제, 회화, 설치작품을 함께 전시합니다. 장신구와 비장신구의 이분법적 구분을 넘어서 다양한 예술 작업을 선보임으로써, 공예와 순수미술이라는 관습적인 장르의 경계를 넘나드는 ‘다층적 만남’을 감상하실 수 있습니다.
이번 전시가 기존에 하위 장르로 인식되었던 공예의 가치를 재조명하고, 공예의 세계가 다양하게 확장되는 자리가 되기를 바랍니다. 나아가 문화 담론으로서의 공예의 방식과 가능성에 대해 성찰하고, 융합과 소통의 새 패러다임을 제시하는 장이 되었으면 합니다.

The D’un bijou à l’autre association organising the eventis aiming to give a boost to contemporary jewellery by raising its profile and enhancing its international reputation.
Contemporary pieces cannot be defined by normal jewellery categories. They are independent, fully-fledged objets d’art, and though they may flirt with the world of luxury and fashion, they still have that aura of the indomitable.
Before seeking to be “desired” as wearable or categorised objects, contemporary jewellery exists in its own right. For it is born of the meeting between thought and material, gesture and tool. It is implicitly imbued with a meaning, a history, an identity. So whether or not it is worn, it represents a message, an intention and a question mark.
This singularity arises from the work carried out by artists, craftsmen and visual artists, who become creators through the expressive originality of their approach.
Though the movement has a limited audience as yet, contemporary jewellery is gradually emerging through the strenuous efforts of gallery owners and the designers themselves.
The PARCOURS BIJOUX initiative arose in 2011 from a meeting between designers faced with a dearth of dedicated structures, who were seeking to boost this emergence and stimulate the economy of this form of expression.
For over ten years, the voluntary work of D’un bijou à l’autre’s members has enabled PARCOURS BIJOUX to continue existing.
A positive ecosystem of committed players has developed around the event, and the participating galleries, museums and institutions have made PARCOURS BIJOUX a firm feature of the city’s cultural scene.
In 2023, the international call for projects involves numerous designers from all over the world, as well as some not actually involved in jewellery who have been inspired to take an open-minded look at this discipline.
We are delighted to be able to offer an opening to those striving to build, innovate, invest in and take risks on behalf of contemporary jewellery, while providing visitors with a broad overview.
With each of the scheduled events, we hope you will join us in celebrating other facets of jewellery: “expression” jewellery, “engagé” jewellery and jewellery “d’auteur”, otherwise known as contemporary jewellery.

CONTEMPORANIA is a new fair in the city of Barcelona, to promote high craftsmanship and excellency.
The transformation of JOYA Barcelona Art Jewellery and Objects has a new tittle, CONTEMPORANIA High Craftsmanship Barcelona, the novel space for national and international contemporary crafts, a trade fair for artists, institutions, galleries and collectives to present and promote their creativity at the very high level.
The innovation and artistic vision in contemporary craftsmanship will be presented through different types of applied arts such as ceramics, art jewelry, lacquer, metal, textiles, glass, paper and wood.
The event will be open to the general public, but also a place of network with institutions, private and public collections. The only fair in Spain dedicated to high craftsmanship that will communicate through a large number of media, ambassadors and international collaborators.

To celebrate Siat Gallery’s opening of a new space, marks the beginning of a new journey for Siat Gallery, as we invite you into an exciting and vibrant world of exploration that lies ahead. Comprising a total of 13 contemporary jewelry and craft artists, this exhibition previews the creative and inventive artistic realm of the participating artists who will also be part of Siat Gallery’s upcoming international exhibitions and fairs planned until next spring. We hope that this exhibition will help expand the artistic horizons of all those who visit, offering a glimpse into the distinctive and imaginative artistic worlds of our featured artists.

Collect is a unique opportunity for collectors and craft enthusiasts to discover outstanding work from international artists. Visitors can browse and buy artworks from 40 specialist galleries representing over 400 exceptional artist-makers from across the globe.
Collect showcases exceptional work made in the last five years by living artists and designers. Each gallery curates their own display and commissions new pieces or bodies of work, especially for the fair. Craft disciplines span ceramics, glass, lacquer, art jewellery, precious metalwork, textiles and fibre, wood, paper and non-traditional materials such as resin and bone.
The fair provides art consultants, interior specialists, collectors, museum curators, design practitioners and the viewing public with an unrivalled opportunity to discover and invest in contemporary craft that will surprise, delight and endure.
2021년 12월 15일(수)부터 12월 19일(일)까지 학고재 아트센터에서 김수연 작가의 첫 국내 개인전 <<아름다웠던, 아름다울 The Moment>> 을 개최합니다. 작가는 직접 촬영하고 인쇄한 사진을 소재로 사용하여, 지극히 사적인 기억의 편린을 장신구, 오브제, 조각 등 다양한 형식으로 표현합니다. 같은 이미지를 수십에서 수백 장 인쇄하고 직접 손으로 자르고 겹겹이 쌓아가는 노동 집약적이고 반복적인 과정을 거치면서 그 순간의 기억을 지울 수 없는 문신처럼 더 깊게 새깁니다. 정확하다고 믿었던 그때의 기억과 감정이 시간이 지남에 따라 결국 변하는 것처럼, 수많은 레이어는 가장 뒤쪽에 있는 원래의 이미지를 완전히 가려버리고 새로운 시각적, 감정적 언어를 만듭니다.
김수연은 숙명여자대학교 학사학위와 미국 로드아일랜드 스쿨 오브 디자인에서 석사학위를 받았습니다. 그녀의 작업은 대표적으로 한국 국립현대미술관, 미국 MAD 미술관 및 아시아, 유럽 등 여러 나라에서 소개되었으며 2013년 국제공모전인 Art Jewelry Forum Emerging Artist Award, 2018년 Lexus Creative Masters Award에서 우승하였습니다.
